One chapter closing and another opening!

It's been a while since I've posted but what a crazy time it has been.  Between graduation (Husband's), end of school year (Little Man) and Little Girls changing personality I have certainly had my hands full.  So here is a quick update.

1. Husband got that job!!!  Hallelujah, praise God, thank you very much, Jehovah Jaria, pretty much and every other.praise.phrase.you.can.think.of.   He actually starts THIS MONDAY.  We are so blessed that the will be working in the field of dermatology which was his favorite rotation.  This field also will give us some good family time. No nights. No weekends. No call (you know, there really aren't a whole lot of emergency wart removals in the world).

2.  Husband Graduated!!  Another 46 hallelujahs!  Amen.

Little Girl learned that this graduating stuff is hard work.  She didn't quite make it through....

3.  Now, time to study for the PANCE:  At this point, I'm just able to barely say "oh thank goodness" because the studying part for this one just about did.me.in.  For reals.  His concentration (read OCD intense-ness) was at a level I never thought I'd see him go.  He studied literally non stop for 16 days.  For example: When explaining to him the extremely complicated plans I had conjured up for graduation weekend he says to me "Paige, I have to study sometime.  If not, those 2 days are a complete wash."  He really said that.  ABOUT GRADUATION WEEKEND.  I almost fell over.  Could he not take 2 days off to you know, celebrate this amazing thing that he had just accomplished? At that point, I just had to keep moving like I always do and hope he got the hint.  He did.  It was a great weekend!

4.  Husband passed the PANCE Exam.  First time.  Killed it!  Boom.

5. Husband is an officially a licensed PA-C.  Thank you email from Texas Medical Board.

That just the latest.  At some point, I think I will have had some time process this last few months and decide what I think is worth sharing.  Right now, I'm just so ready for our new normal, 2 paychecks, and to move into the new chapter.  Several people have commented that "wow, that 3 years flew by."  I try to be a gracious as possible but really, it did NOT fly by.  It crawled, clawed, bit, spit, banged, beat, and dug its way through our life.  For those on the outside or someone who has not gone through an experience like this, they just have no idea.  Now, on this side of the fence (the side where I can say 'we are finished'), it feels pretty darn good.  I am so proud of Husband and his hard work.  I'm proud of Little Man.  He's learned a lot of lessons that most 7 year old don't.  And I have to say, I'm proud of myself.  I worked hard too.  I might not have been the one who took the test, but I made the meal the feed the belly before the test.  I might not have read the book, but I paid the electric bill to keep the lights on for him to read said book.  I might not have walked across that stage, but HE carried my heart with him every step.  We did it.  Amen.
