Difference Between Laceration and Abrasion

In honor of Little Mans's first visit to the ER (and first 11 stitches) Husband has been teaching him the difference between Lacerations and Abrasions. This was the review session this morning: 

Husband: "Ok, Little Man, what is this called (insert pointing at cut on knee)" 

Little Man: "Laceration." 

Husband: "Good. Now what is this(insert pointing at scratch on knee)" 

Little Man:"An Abra-ceration."
